face2face Elementary is a general English course for adults and young adults. Each of the twelve units is comprehensive. The course uses a communicative methodology, with the focus on speaking and listening. Equal weighting is given to vocabulary and grammar. The material is informed by a corpus, the CIC (Cambridge International Corpus).
A key issue when considering courseware is whether or not students use
the CD-ROM which is packaged at the back of their course book. How close
is the link between the F2F course and the electronic materials. The CD-ROM
/ audio-CD at the back of the latest level of face-to-face contains:
· video
· many hundreds of interactive exercises for consolidation
· access to a glossary
· a phonemic chart
The disc certainly extends the range of teaching material, and is highly recommended.
