Title (tbc): New technology – new pedagogies
Abstract (subject to confirmation):
Good teaching is always informed by sound pedagogical principles. Technology
is not to be used ‘for the sake of it’. Nevertheless, we live
in a technology-driven world. The ‘innovators’ create the tools,
and then teachers explore the pedagogical value of these exciting new developments.
This workshop will critically analyse a number of technologies, and seek
to answer the question: to what extent have teachers’ methodologies
been influenced by new technology? What ‘New pedagogies’ have
been created? Participants will leave with a number of practical teaching
ideas in the areas of grammar, vocabulary, language skills and phonology
